Who is behind all this nonsense?!?

The creator and self-proclaimed Mayor of Sooperstown is Steve Skapyak, who:

• Has been a baseball fan since a young age growing up in Northeast Pennsylvania.

• Has been a Red Sox fan (like his father) since before there was a Red Sox Nation.

• Once got a key hit in a Little League game.

• Subscribed to The Sporting News as a teen rather than Sports Illustrated (and only regretted it during Swimsuit Issue time).

• Can name the starting pitchers of the first major league game he ever attended (Nino Espinosa vs. Bruce Berenyi).

• Watched a home run by Ken Griffey Jr. at Camden Yards that may still not have landed.

• Has nabbed a grand total of zero home run or foul balls while attending games.

• Attended the only loss by the Colorado Rockies during Rocktober 2007 before the World Series.

• Is also a self-proclaimed baseball stats and history nerd who just recently joined the ranks at SABR.

• Lives with his very beautiful and very understanding wife and a cadre of animals in the Denver suburbs.
